Mission Statement

The BWP Ski Team is a family driven organization which develops young athletes in the sport of alpine skiing in a supportive environment.  The main focus of the BWP Ski Team is to help young athletes achieve their goals of improving skiing skills, to race at the highest level possible, and to strive for excellence in all that they do.

The team promotes good sportsmanship, respect, good life decisions, care for the venue, positive self-esteem, goal setting, discipline, and teamwork in athletes of all ages.  The team is concerned for the well-being of its athletes on the hill, in the classroom, and away at races.  The organization is committed to nurturing the whole athlete so that they are prepared for the challenges they will encounter on the hill and in life.

I grew up on a farm right behind the Bottineau Winter Park where I spent countless hours skiing. As a young athlete, I skied and raced at local resorts in Manitoba and North Dakota.  I joined the BWP Ski Team as an assistant in 1992.  In 2000, I became the Head Coach.

I hold a Level 200 USSA Coaching certification and I am also a PSIA level 1 Instructor. I am an active member of the National Ski Patrol and instructor of OEC.  In Manitoba Alpine Ski Division, I hold an entry level coaching and an Officials 2 certification.  I have been involved with fall camps in Colorado for a number of years and have helped with a USSA Skills Quest Camp in Colorado recently.  The BWP Ski Team has had athletes qualify for the last four U14 and last two U16 Junior Olympics in Colorado.  We also had an athlete participate in our first U19 FIS Championships in 2018 and we are looking at continuing this tradition in the years to come.

While not skiing, I enjoy riding my Harley Davidson, Scuba Diving, Mountain Biking, Soccer and cruises in the Bahamas.  I cherish spending time with family and friends.
